London is known as one of the most expensive cities in the world to live and travel. That shouldn’t stop you from booking a trip to London for a visit. The city offers some great sights to see such as the London Eye, Big Ben, geat shopping, and a large number of art galleries and museums most of which are free to visit.
If you’re planning a trip to London, I’ve included some affordable places to stay. If you’re look for cheap places, and looking to socialize with other travellers stay in one of the recommended hostels. If you’re looking for more privacy and have a bit more to spend check out one of the following hotels.
ibis London City Hotel
Rooms at ibis London City Hotel start at $142.00 a night. The hotel is walking distance to some of London’s major attractions including Big Ben, Tower of London, and Oxford Street. You’ll save not only time but money by staying so close to the major sites.

DoubleTree by Hilton Victoria
The DoubleTree by Hilton in the heart of London’s theatre district, making it the perfect place to stay if you plan on catching some live shows. Buckingham Palace, The London Eye, Houses of Parliament, and Oxford Street are all walking distance.
Rooms start at $175.00 a night and include free breakfast. Rooms also include free Wi-Fi, and work stations. A restaurant and Bar are also available for guests to enjoy, or you can make use of the 24 hour room service.
Russell Court Hotel
The Russell Court Hotel is one of the more affordable hotels in London with prices starting at about $100.00 a night. Located in the Kensington area just minutes away of the Japanese Gardens, Hyde Park, and shopping.
Rooms at the Russell Court Hotel include a private bathroom, free Wi-Fi, child care services.
Generator Hostel London
The Generator Hostel is a great place to stay if you’re looking to stay at a social hostel. THe hostel has chill out rooms and a bar for guests to socialize after a day of sight-seeing. They also host nightly events and entertainment for you to enjoy.
Prices start at $47.00 a night for a 10 bed dorm. Meals are also available at a small charge, or you can buy your own food and make use of the shared kitchen.
St Christopher’s Greenwich
Stay at St Christopher’s Hostel in the UNESCO world heritage area of Greenwich. Prices at the St Christopher’s hostel start at $40.00 a night for an 8 bed dorm.
Located close to 02 longitude, and London Bridge, and Dickens’ favourite pub. You’re also a short tube ride to Big Ben, and Westminster.
The hostel also offers free Wi-Fi, a luggage room, games room, a chill out room to get to know other travellers, and free shampoo and shower gel.
